Does the piercing fee include jewelry?

No, all jewelry must be purchased separately from the piercing fee.

What do I need to bring with me to my appointment?

You will need to bring a government-issued ID to get pierced, this includes a driver's license, state ID, passport, or a temporary government-issued paper driver's license or state ID from the DMV.

Can I get pierced with my own jewelry?

As of 10/1/23, we will not pierce with any pre-worn jewelry. We have made this decision to uphold best in class sterilization and safety practices at our studios.

We cannot guarantee the quality and composition of the metals used for jewelry purchased outside of Wildlike or our sister store, Ylang 23. If you pre-purchase your earring at our sister store, you will need to come in 24 hours before your appointment with proof of purchase for sterilization.

I have gotten pierced at Wildlike before, can I get pierced with the same jewelry that I already have?

As of 10/1/23, Wildlike is a fully disposable studio, and we cannot pierce you with pre-worn jewelry. Please understand that this decision was made to provide the safest piercing experience possible.

How old do I have to be to get pierced?

Minors can get their ears pierced as young as 10 years old at Wildlike if accompanied by a parent. We require the original birth certificate as well as a parent whom is listed on the birth certificate present with a government issued ID. The birth certificate cannot be a photocopy or digital copy. If you do not have the birth certificate, please arrive early and we will provide a form that you can take to get notarized to be used in place of one. No exceptions.

If you are unable to present the required documents for either yourself or the minor, our team has the right to cancel or reschedule your appointment for a different time when the requested documents can be presented.

How do you pierce?

We pierce with a hollow needle, which makes room for the new jewelry with ease. For those wondering why we don't pierce with a gun, they force a blunt jewelry end through your ear tissue which causes trauma, leading to a higher probability of infection as well as improperly placed piercings.

Can I get pierced with a hoop?

This depends on your anatomy and the part of your body you want pierced. We only pierce with hoops in certain places - the daith and the septum. Although some piercers will pierce with hoops at other studios, we believe that studs set you up for success in the healing process. Hoops tend to naturally rotate in the ear, so there's a higher chance of bacteria getting in your piercing. We promise to be very honest when piercing you and make recommendations based on our deep experience piercing and your unique anatomy.

Do you numb the ear before piercing?

Numbing cream constricts the tissue in your ear, leading to a crooked piercing. When numbed, we cannot guarantee the quality or placement of the piercing due to the distorted tissue. If you are too nervous about the pain of a piercing, we recommend waiting until you feel ready.

What piercings do you provide?

Our services include ear, nose, navel and nipple piercings. For a nose piercing, you most be 15 years or older. For a navel piercing, you must be 16 years or older. For a nipple piercing, you must be 18 years or older. All minors must be accompanied by a guardian and provide their original birth certificate at the appointment.

For both nipple and navel piercings, our experienced piercers require a 5 minute consultation at the beginning of your appointment to ensure you're an ideal candidate. This consultation is included in your appointment when you book.

How high is the risk of infection after a piercing?

A fresh piercing is an open wound which always has a risk of infection. As long as you're taking care of the piercing and cleaning it appropriately, avoiding touching it and sleeping on it, the risk of infection is quite low.

Why does my piercing keep acting up?

There are several factors that can prolong the healing process. Catching your piercing on masks, hair, brushes etc. can be a contributing factor to the irritation you may be experiencing. Be careful when sleeping, and be sure not to touch your fresh piercing!

What should I clean my fresh piercing with?

We recommend using saline solution to clean your fresh piercing. We recommend NeilMed, which allows you to spray your new piercings without touching them. Do not use the following on a fresh piercing: alcohol, bactine, hydrogen peroxide, disinfectants, soaps or tea tree oil! So basically only use Saline :)

I'm pregnant and want a new piercing. Is it safe?

It is against Texas state law to pierce pregnant women.

I just had a child and I am currently breastfeeding. Am I able to get pierced?

Unfortunately, we cannot pierce you while you are actively breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is hard on our immune system which allows for a higher risk of infection. Plus, infection can pass through the breast milk to the child. We recommend getting pierced about 3 months after you are done breastfeeding.
