Can everyone get a nipple piercing?

To be eligible for a nipple piercing, you must be at least 18 years old and not currently pregnant or breastfeeding. It is important to note that nipple piercings are not compatible with all anatomies. Our experienced piercers will perform a 5 minute consultation at the beginning of your appointment to ensure you are an ideal candidate.

How should I prepare or what should I wear to my appointment?

Preparing for your appointment is simple but important. We recommend wearing a shirt that’s easy to unbutton or remove, and avoiding materials that could snag on your new piercing. For women, a bralette or a camisole with a built-in bra is ideal—it offers gentle support without sticking to the area. Men should wear a loose-fitting shirt to reduce friction and allow for proper airflow. After the procedure, we’ll apply a breathable bandage over the piercing to protect it during the initial healing phase.

What type of jewelry can I get pierced with?

We use implant-grade titanium barbells for all nipple piercings. Titanium is lightweight, hypoallergenic, and carries a much lower risk of infection or irritation than other metals, making it the safest choice for initial piercings. Once your piercing is fully healed, you can switch to a hoop or a more decorative piece to suit your personal style.

How do I care for a nipple piercing?

Proper aftercare is essential for a healthy healing process. We recommend using tegaderm film patches to protect the nipple for the first three months which will accelerate healing time. If you are sensitive to adhesives, you can use a sterile saline spray at the end of our shower. Make sure to avoid any contact with a loofa or washcloth since those harbor bacteria. Also important to avoid swimming in pools, hot tubs, or natural bodies of water during healing. Nipple piercings typically take between 6 to 12 months to fully heal, depending on your body and how well the aftercare routine is followed.
